TEMPEST Car Rental at Cape Town Airport

Before leaving the baggage claim area upon your arrival at Cape Town International Airport, please remember to collect your luggage. Most rental car companies at the airport are located in a separate facility reached through pedestrian subways on each side of the terminal building. Please follow the signs and you will find Tempest car rental desk located in front of the Transportation Plaza and Central Terminal Building.

Helpful information when renting a Tempest vehicle at Cape Town Airport

All renters must have held their valid unendorsed driver’s license for at least three years prior to the start of the rental period.

All renters have to provide not only their driver’s license, but also their reservation number or booking confirmation/voucher as well as a valid payment method and a picture ID-card at the time of collection of the rented vehicle. International drivers have to provide a valid passport in the same name as the driver’s license.

Returning your rented Tempest vehicle at Cape Town Airport

Please make sure to consult with Tempest directly at CPT for instructions and directions on where to return your rental car.

Renters are advised to return their rented vehicle with a full tank. However, if the tank is not full at the time of return Tempest will refuel the vehicle and charge the renter for the refill including a refueling service fee.
